Four and a half million people, as of this writing, have signed a Change.org Petition to have the Governor of Colorado offer commutation for time served in a trucking accident that killed four people.

Rogel Aguilera-Mederos is a truck driver who was sentenced to 110 years in prison in Colorado on December 13, 2021, after being convicted of 27 counts stemming from a fatal 2019 accident that killed four people along Interstate 70. He cooperated fully with investigators, passed alcohol and drug tests and maintains that the accident was caused when he lost control of his truck after the brakes failed.

The employer, who was responsible for maintenance on the truck, was not held responsible, even though they had past violations.
